We work with communities to support environmental justice. We recognize that environmental justice is intricately linked to social justice and civil rights issues.
Blackbirds for Kids
An alternative to Scouts. Meetings consist of activities that promote environmental and social justice, e.g. sweeping a neighbor’s sidewalk, digging for fossils, making welcome cards for new refugees. Every meeting ends with crafts — a lot of Mod Podge and glitter… and more glitter.
Gardener’s Guild
This group connects local gardeners. All levels of gardening expertise welcome — from the gardening timid to the master gardener.
Anaeorbic Digesters
Learn how to use organic waste, such as compost, to generate energy, i.e. biogas, for cooking and fuel.
